International Committee
The Essex Rotary Club's International Committee supports the overall Rotary International efforts and chooses it's own international efforts to support.
From our local fundraising events our International Committee supported the following:
Upendo Mmjoa: One Love: Supports the village of Pommerin, Tanzania. Village residents are attempting to build a vocational center, carpentry workshop, send children to school, set up a micro-loan program, and many other efforts.
ShelterBox USA: Our club sent (number of boxes) to (place boxes sent). A ShelterBox includes items for immediate shelter and vital supplies for areas struck by disaster or humanitarian crisis.
Rotary Polio Plus: Supporting Rotary's effort to eradicate polio from the planet. Since Rotary's effort began in 1988 cases of polio have been reduced by 99%.
Rotary International Foundation: The foundation goals are to eliminate polio and promote peace by alleviating poverty, illiteracy, and malnutrition with sustainable solutions that leave a lasting impact.
