Greetings Rotarians!  The weather was cool and rainy and the golf . . . well  . . .  let’s just say that nobody would have confused the level of play in this tournament with that of the Masters.  Regardless, the Essex Rotary Golf Tournament was once again a huge success!  The food was delicious and a great time was had by players and volunteers alike! A big thank you goes out to all of the Rotarians who graciously volunteered their time to work at this event and to all who helped secure cart and hole sponsors. An even bigger thank you is extended to Dave Johnson and the rest of the Golf Committee for their hard work in putting the tournament together. Since January, this committee has put a tremendous amount of effort into making this a highly successful event.  We look forward to hearing the tournament results and the final tally on the money that was raised!

 

 

            June has been designated as “Fellowship Month” by Rotary International.  During this month, we are asked to reflect upon the importance of fellowship amongst fellow Rotarians and members of our community.  Examples of how we celebrate fellowship include breaking bread with our fellow Rotarians at our weekly meetings and enjoying a round of golf at our Golf Tournament.

 

 

            Speaking of fellowship, the Essex Rotary Changeover Dinner is rapidly approaching. Please mark your calendars for the evening of Wednesday, June 25^th.  Our Club will be holding its annual Changeover Dinner at The Essex on that date.  This dinner will be held in lieu of our regularly scheduled meeting that day.  Awards will be given out for Rookie of the Year; Rotarian of the Year and the Unsung Hero of the Year. In addition, the Club will also bestow the first ever Service Above and Beyond Awards to deserving Rotarians.  By now, you all should have received an Evite invitation via e-mail.  We ask that you please RSVP by following the Evite link.
