Meeting Recap

Greetings Rotarians! Today’s speaker was Captain Zachariah Fike, founder of Purple Hearts Reunited.  Capt. Fike started this non-profit organization in 2012 as a vehicle for locating lost, stolen or missing Military Medals and returning them to their rightful owners.  To date, Capt. Fike’s hard work has resulted in over 100 medals being returned to their original recipients or their families.  In addition to locating and returning these medals, Capt. Fike takes the time to enroll recipients of these medals into the Purple Heart Hall of Honor.  So far, over 1,000 recipients have been enrolled through Purple Hearts Reunited.  For more information about this organization and the work it does, please visit http://purpleheartsreunited.org/about-us/

Essex Rotary Exchange Student

As most of you are already aware, our Club has sponsored local high school student, Katy Trahan as a Rotary Exchange Student.  Katy has graciously updated us on her experiences in Iceland by frequently posting pictures and notes on our Club’s Facebook page. As we approach the holiday season, it might be nice for members to let Katy know that we are thinking about her during this amazing experience.  Katy would undoubtedly appreciate any messages from home, so please feel free to send her a letter at the following address:
