Essex Rotary Golf Tournament

Greetings Rotarians!  Today we held our annual golf tournament!  The sunshine and good cheer were both ample and all seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves!  Although final numbers are not yet in, it is expected that our Club once again made out very well with this event.  And judging from the quality of some of the shots I saw on the links, I’m guessing the lady running the beer cart also made out very well today! Thank you again to all of the Rotarians who generously took time out of their work days to volunteer at this event.  Finally, we owe a great deal of thanks to Golf Committee Members, Jean Ashe; Mark Benton; Heidi Brosseau; Nancy Freeze; Chris Kasper; Nancy LeBoeuf; Dave Johnson; Phil Murdock; Hannah Ricard; Tim Shea and Kristin Winer for their hard work in making this event a success. Many don’t realize that the preparation for this event begins in January and continues until the day of the actual event. Our Club is grateful to the Golf Committee for their tireless efforts and the attention to detail that go into making this tournament an annual success.

Essex Eats Out

The Essex Eats Out event that was held at the First Congregational Church this past Friday was a huge success!  Several Essex Rotarians either donated food or volunteered to help serve at least 88 people.  The dinner garnered rave reviews and fellowship was enjoyed by all!  Thank you to all who assisted with this event. A special thank you goes out to Sharon Dettenrieder for spearheading Rotary’s involvement with Essex Eats Out.

Upcoming Meeting Schedule:  Wednesday, June 17, 2015 – Our speaker will be General Harry Miller, Executive Director of Military and Veteran Services for Easter Seals of New England.
