Meeting Recap

Greetings fellow Rotarians! Today we collaborated with the Knights of Columbus to put on the annual Senior Holiday Luncheon at the Champlain Valley Exposition. Several Rotarians volunteered to put together goodie bags and serve holiday lunches to the over 200 senior citizens in attendance. In addition to the fellowship that was enjoyed by all, everyone was treated to a performance of holiday songs by the Albert D. Lawton Middle School Choir.  Thank you to all of the Rotarians who helped out at this event by either volunteering their time or by securing donations for goodie bags.  A big thank you goes out to Diana Ferguson for once again doing an amazing job of coordinating this event for our Club. We’d also like to thank the Champlain Valley Exposition for generously hosting this event.

Salvation Army Bell Ringing

As one holiday service project ends, another one is about to begin. Our Club has once again committed to filling bell ringing slots on Friday December 11th and Saturday, December 12th in front of the Price Chopper and Essex Discount Beverage in Essex Center.  We are pleased to report that all of the shifts have been filled.  Great job, everyone!

Board of Directors Election

The election for the 2015-2016 Board of Directors will be held at our December 9th meeting. Currently, we appear to have an open slot for the position of vice-president. The primary duty of the vice-president is to preside at meetings of the club and the board in the absence of the president. Please let President Nancy Freeze know prior to next week’s meeting if you are interested in filling this position or if you are interested in running for any of the other positions.

Upcoming Meeting Schedule:  Wednesday, December 9, 2015 – In addition to our annual election, our speaker will be Wanda Hines, Executive Director of the Joint Urban Ministry Project.
