Greetings fellow Rotarians!  We kicked things off by inducting Mike Dimitroff as our newest member of our Club.  If you haven’t had the opportunity to do so yet, please introduce yourselves to Mike and make him feel welcome.  The focus of today’s meeting was to gear up for the 2016 Essex Rotary Golf Tournament.  This year’s event will be held at the Links at Lang Farm on Wednesday, June 8, 2016.  The golf tournament is by far our Club’s largest fundraiser, but in order for this event to be successful, we need every member to assist in securing sponsors.  Dave Johnson and his committee have worked very hard to secure the major sponsors of this event, but it is up to the rest of us to do our share and make sure that we have enough hole and cart sponsors to once again make this event a tremendous success.  More details about the golf tournament and sponsorship opportunities will be available in weeks to come.

            Please join past and present Essex Rotarians and their family members for an evening of celebration as we look back and reminisce about the past fifty years. This event will start at 5:30pm and end whenever The Essex runs out of booze (just kidding . . . maybe).             We are looking for volunteers to help serve food and clean up at the Essex High School Community Service Dinner on April 7^th beginning at 6:00pm.  This event will honor several high school students who have generously volunteered within the community. Please contact Amy Jackman if you would like to help out.

 

Upcoming Meeting Schedule:  April 6, 2016 – Our speaker will be Governor Peter Shumlin.  He will be discussing the upcoming legislative session.
