Meeting Recap

Greetings fellow Rotarians!  Today’s speaker was Erin Connor who was recently crowned as Miss Vermont. Erin grew up on a farm in Addison County and is currently a student at the University of Vermont. As evidenced by the fact she became a licensed private pilot at the young age of 16, Erin has a strong passion for flying. Her love of aviation and science in general has formed the basis of her Miss Vermont platform.  During her tenure, Erin will be travelling across the State in an effort to stimulate interest in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics in school age children.  In addition to visiting schools, Erin has put together a STEM focused after school camp in Addison County that is free of charge to local students.  For more information about Erin and her platform, please visit her website at:

Essex Rotary Corn Booth

As one fundraiser ends, another is about to begin.  The Champlain Valley Fair is just around the corner which means we are getting ready for the Corn Booth! From August 25th through September 3rd, our Club will be busy selling freshly cooked corn on the cob at the fair.  Not only does this event raise money for our charitable ventures, it also gives our Club some great exposure as thousands of people pass by our booth each day.  We ask that every Rotarian be responsible for filling two spots. Rotarians are encouraged to fill spots with friends and family members.  You may either sign up at meetings or at the website by clicking on the following link:
