WEEKLY NEWSLETTER

Meeting Recap

Greetings fellow Rotarians! This week we held our monthly charitable committee meetings. As a reminder, we like to keep our members informed about how we spend our funds, so we ask that committee chairs please report their donations to the Club so they can be referenced in the newsletters.

Banana boxes needed

Phil Murdock is looking for donations of banana boxes that will be used to cart apples to the local food shelves.  Please contact Phil or Sharon Dettenrieder if you have any boxes that you are able to secure and donate.

Service Above Self Nominations

We are still looking for nominations for the annual Service Above Self Award recipient. Each year, our Club recognizes an individual in our community who best exemplifies the spirit of our motto of service above self.  To date, Dave Johnson has only received one nomination, so we are hoping to get more.  Please submit your nominations along with a detailed description of why you feel your nominee is deserving to Dave Johnson at mdkiln@gmail.com

Welcome Dinner for Pablo

Thank you very much to Edith Klimoski and her family for hosting this event and thank you to all of the Rotarians who attended. It was greatly appreciated by Pablo! Once the soccer season comes to an end, we are hopeful that Rotarians will volunteer to take Pablo on some local outings so he can get to know the area.

Trip to Montreal

Rotarian Bob McEwing has offered members the opportunity to join him and Rotarians from other Clubs on a bus trip to and from Montreal on Sunday, October 1st.  While there, Rotarians will be given a tour of the city and spend some time in le Vieux-Port (the Old Port).  For more information about this trip, please contact Bob at macpiper@aol.com
Essex Eats Out

We are still looking for volunteers to help out at this event. Please contact Sharon Dettenrieder at Sharon.dettenrieder@gmail.com for more details about this service project.

Heavenly Pantry Food Shelf

The next opportunity to volunteer at the food shelf will be on October 26th. Please let Sharon Dettenrieder know if you are able to volunteer for this shift.
