Meeting Recap
Greetings fellow Rotarians! Today we held the annual Essex Rotary Golf Tournament! In spite of some rainy weather leading up to the event, we were finally able to enjoy some decent weather and even finished the day with blue skies and sunshine. Several teams representing various skill levels took to the greens and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day. Thank you again to all who volunteered and a special thank you goes out to Dave Johnson and the rest of the golf committee for making this year’s event a success!
Essex Rotary Changeover Dinner
This year’s changeover dinner will be held at Chapin Orchards on Saturday, June 29th. You are strongly encouraged to bring your family members to what should be a great day at the orchard. We will be conducting our annual changeover ceremonies as well as the Rotary Auction. There will be a number of great items up for bid at the auction, so be sure to bring your checkbooks! In order to get an accurate headcount to the caterer, we ask that you please RSVP as quickly as you can. Please contact either Heather Lemon or President Phil to let them know how many from your party will be attending. Finally, for the second consecutive year, we will be honoring our Rotarian of the Year and our Essex Rotary Rookie of the Year at this event. Please be sure to submit your nominations for each of these categories to President Phil for consideration.
District Governor Changeover
District 7850 conducted its annual changeover on June 6, 2013 at the Coach Barn at Shelburne Farms. Outgoing District Governor, Sonny Holt was recognized for his hard work during the 2012-2013 Rotary year and
Stephen Dates, a member of the Shelburne-Charlotte Rotary Club, was officially inducted as the new District Governor for the 2013-2014 Rotary year. Please be sure to mark your calendars for the July 17th meeting because District Governor Dates is scheduled to join us that day to share his vision for the upcoming Rotary year.
Upcoming Meeting Schedule: June 19, 2013 – Rebecca Town and Dawn Bugbee will be giving us an update on Green Mountain Power Corporation.
