"This is the Rotary Club of Essex, Vermont"

Greetings:

Welcome to the Rotary Club of Essex Vermont's website! Rotary is a non-profit service club where neighbors, friends, and problem-solvers share ideas, join leaders, and take action to create lasting change. We are one of the longest established Rotary clubs in Vermont with over 50 current members calling our service club home. In addition to Essex and Essex Junction, our Club encompasses Westford, Jericho, and Underhill. All are welcome who are interested in local community service and international activities. We meet every Wednesday at noon and feature guest speakers to educate us about local community, state and international activities.

Internationally, Rotary, which began in 1905, is widely noted for its successful role in nearly eradicating polio throughout the world. Nearly 3 billion children are now immunized against polio. More than 1,400,000 Rotarians in 200 countries around the world support international activities and local community service projects. Our role in the fight against serious disease via vaccinations is perhaps more timely than ever and serves as a major point of pride for our membership.

Thanks to dozens of local business sponsors, we raised over $40,000 last year with our Golf Tourney, All-Star Hockey game, and Corn Booth at the Champlain Valley Fair. Our members have thrown free community events to celebrate diversity and organized food drives for our local food shelves. 100% of that money is then allocated to a variety of community projects, including Project Warm, providing winter coats to kids in need, scholarships for high school students, and other activities. Some Service projects include Ringing the Bell for the Salvation Army, Staffing the Heavenly Food Pantry, and the annual Service Above Self Volunteer of the Year recognition. If you would like to learn more about our club, feel free to reach out to us via email or social media.

Yours in Service,

Pat Murray
