On Saturday October 7th, Essex Rec and Park is hosting a Community Day from 10-4 at the Foster Road Park. This is the culminating event for the week of Exploring Essex with activities for the whole family: live musical performances, Alyx the Magician, horse-drawn hayrides, Kids Carnival with bounce houses and miniature golf, a farmer's market including food trucks and craft booths, baking contests, photography and coloring contests, and drawings from the Giveaway Exploraganza.
As a part of this Community Day, the Club will have tent with the banner and a table with an assortment of cookies from which participants can choose after answering a brief questionnaire about Rotary from the information on the banner: a win-win situation.
How can you help?
- Bake a dozen cookies and wrap them in small individual plastic bags (similar to the goodies for the hockey tournament) then drop them off at Kaitlyn Raymond's office by Friday October 6th.
- Volunteer to the help set-up the tent, or be at the table for two-hour shifts, or help to clean-up.
Please see Lois Parmelee at the meeting on Wednesday, September 20 to let her know the way you would like support this outreach event. I'm looking forward to the excitement of the Community Day and I hope you will join in.
