Meeting Recap

Greetings Rotarians! Today’s special guest president was Mike LeBoeuf! Our speaker today was Judy
Peterson, the CEO of the Visiting Nurse Association of Chittenden and Grand Isle Counties. This branch of the
Visiting Nurse Association is the oldest in the state and currently assists over 154,000 people in our community.
Most people recognize this organization for its respite work and its assistance with end of life care, but as Judy
explained, the VNA does far more than that. Their nurses assist individuals in regaining independence following
an illness, surgery or change in health condition. They also support parents through pregnancy and early
childhood years with education, nursing care and guidance. Judy stated that the VNA has a philosophy of
promoting holistic and preventative care as a means of improving the conditions of people in our community. For
more information about the VNA, please visit its website at www.vnacares.org

Charitable Committees

We are now in the 11th hour for spending our charitable funds for the 2014-2015 fiscal year. If your
committee hasn’t done so already, you need to get any check requests to Kristin Winer ASAP so that the checks
can be sent out during this fiscal year. Contrary to popular belief, ASAP is not an acronym for, “act slowly and
procrastinate”. It means, “as soon as possible” or to be more succinct, RIGHT NOW!

Essex Rotary Dues

You all should have received your invoices for annual dues from Kristin Winer via e-mail. We ask that
you please remit payment of your dues quickly as the Club needs that money to pay the District and Rotary
International dues. If you do not intend on renewing your membership, we ask that you please let the board know
immediately so that this information can be accurately reported to Rotary International.

Upcoming Meeting Schedule: Wednesday, June 25, 2014 – Evening Changeover Dinner at The Essex. This
event will be held in lieu of our regular scheduled lunch meeting that day.
