Meeting Recap

Greetings Rotarians! Today was our last meeting of 2014. We ended the year in style with our annual holiday lunch at The Essex.  We were fortunate to be joined in fellowship by the loved ones of several Rotarians.  Our wonderful meal was complemented by an amazing performance by the Essex High School Choir. These talented vocalists enthralled us with renditions of some classic holiday tunes as well as some lesser known seasonal pieces. Dave Johnson finished the meeting and the year by presenting a card and gift to our server, Katie in appreciation for her hard work in serving our meals throughout the year.  Katie was very touched and appreciative of the gesture, so thank you to all of the Rotarians who contributed to her gift.
Salvation Army Bell-Ringing
Close to 30 Rotarians braved the cold and the elements to fulfill our bell-ringing commitment for the Salvation Army last week.  In spite of the weather, we provided smiles and bell-ringing service in front of the Price Chopper in Essex Center and Essex Discount Beverage this past Friday and Saturday.  As a Club, we lived up to our motto of “service above self” by helping the Salvation Army collect $1,575.00 for people in need.  Thank you to all of the Rotarians who volunteered their time for this effort.  A special thank you goes out to Nancy Freeze for not only coordinating the volunteer effort, but for filling in extra shifts!
Upcoming Meeting Schedule:  Wednesday, December 24, 2014 and Wednesday, December 31, 2014 – We will not be meeting on either Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve.  Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, January 7, 2015.
Have a safe and happy holiday season!  We’ll  see you all  in 2015!
