Meeting Recap

Greetings fellow Rotarians! Today’s speaker was Robin Pierce, Community Development Director of the Village of Essex Junction.  Robin discussed the ongoing development of the Five Corners in the Village and the anticipated benefits our community will see from it. Robin focused much of his talk on the proposed Crescent Connector.  This proposed reconfiguration of traffic routes through the Village will alleviate congestion around that area by facilitating the flow of traffic around some of the proposed development sites.  The hope is that this project will stimulate economic growth in the Village by creating a more attractive location for businesses to develop.  Robin educated those in the audience about the process of getting this project approved and where the project currently stands.  For more information about the Crescent Connector, please visit the following website: http://www.ccrpcvt.org/crescent-connector-project/

Essex Rotary Key Bank All-Star Hockey Classic

Winter has finally arrived, which means that preparations are well under way for the 2016 Essex Rotary Key Bank All-Star Hockey Classic.   This year’s event will be held on Saturday, March 19th at the Essex Skating Facility and will once again, feature both a men’s and a women’s game. This is generally our Club’s second largest fundraiser, so we need the help and support of all of our members to pull it off.  Stay tuned for more details about this event as we get closer to it. Please contact committee chair, Jeff Cabanaw with any questions.

Upcoming Meeting Schedule:  January 20, 2016 – Local authors, Jennifer and John Churchman will be discussing their new children’s book, “Sweet Pea & Friends: A Sheepover”.
