Greetings fellow Rotarians!  We started today’s meeting with what was probably one of the most eloquent and heartfelt classification talks in memory.  Jess Perrault is one of our newer members and she took the opportunity to let us get to know her a bit better.  Jess was born in Newport, Vermont and has lived in Chittenden County for the past 23 years.  After graduating from Winooski High School, Jess continued her studies at Champlain College.  She currently works for Comeau’s Markets where she helps oversee the day-to-day operations of their local markets.  Jess is an avid traveler and hiker who has backpacked in both Europe and Utah.  Jess shared some of the principles that have guided her and explained how they helped her to overcome a great deal of adversity early in her life.  Thank you, Jess, for giving us the chance to learn what an amazing individual you are. The meeting concluded with the final committee meetings of the Rotary year and the chance for members to break out into groups and get to know one another a bit better. 

 

 

            We inching closer to the big day, but there is still a lot of work to be done! Our goal is to secure 50 hole sponsors and we currently have 41! If you haven’t contacted your assigned sponsors yet, please do so soon!  If you are having trouble identifying potential sponsors, please contact Dave Johnson and he will provide you with names of potential sponsors.  Nancy Freeze will also be circulating a sign-up sheet for volunteers for this event in the next few weeks.  Remember, this is our Club’s biggest fundraiser and we need every Rotarian to pitch in on making it a success!

 

 

            If you haven’t done so already, please pay your Club dues. By now, you should have a received an e-mail with instructions for paying dues online. This really is the most efficient way of getting dues paid, so please take advantage of the fact our Club allows us to pay our dues in this manner.  Just as a reminder, if you have not paid your dues by June 30^th, you will be dropped from the Club roster, so please don’t let that happen!

 

 

            The annual Changeover Barbeque will be held at Maple Street Park on Wednesday, June 28^th starting at 6:00pm.  Like last year’s event, Rotarians and their family members are welcome to enjoy some good food and celebrate the peaceful transition of power from the outgoing Board of Directors to the new Board of Directors.  There is no charge for this event, however, the Club needs an accurate head count well in advance.  If you and your family members are planning to attend, please sign up on the sheet that is being circulated at meetings.

 

 

            The next opportunities to volunteer at the Heavenly Food Pantry will be June 22^nd, July 27^th and August 24th.  Please contact Sharon Dettenrieder if you would like to sign up for shifts.

 

Upcoming Meeting Schedule:  June 7, 2017 – Our speaker will be Jane Mitchell from the Vermont Chapter of the Alzheimers Association.
