Meeting Recap

Greetings fellow Rotarians!  Today’s speaker was Cristina Alicea, Artistic Director of the Vermont Stage Company.  The Vermont Stage Company was founded in 1994 and is about ready to embark on its 25th season of producing plays in Burlington.  In addition to producing plays, the Stage Company runs the Vermont Young Playwrites program. This initiative has helped thousands of middle-school aged students draft and write their first plays. Over the years, the Stage Company has seen many changes, but the most significant change has been its recent move from the Flynn Theater to the Black Box Theater at the Main Street Landing Performing Arts Center located near the Burlington waterfront.  Ms. Alicea indicated that the Black Box Theater will be a better fit for their productions. The first production of the new season is a play called, “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time” which will be playing through this coming weekend.  Four more plays will be performed by the Stage Company from December through May.  For more information about the Vermont Stage Company and its upcoming productions, please visit its website at: https://www.vermontstage.org/
Feed My Starving Children - Recap

Thank you to the 30 Rotarians and family members who volunteered for the Feed my Starving Children food packing event! In less than two hours, our group helped package enough food packets to feed 95 children for a full year!  This is a great example of the hands-on service that our Club provides to the community. Thank you to Amy Jackman for once again coordinating this fun event!
