Meeting Recap
Greetings fellow Rotarians and Happy Halloween!  Today, the Essex welcomed us with festive decorations and some spooky desserts. Our committees met this afternoon to continue plotting the courses for our various charitable endeavors for the Rotary year.  By now, all committees should know the amount of the funds that have been allocated to them for the year and can therefore, begin identifying causes to support.  For some of our newer members, if you haven’t done so already, please take the opportunity to learn more about what each committee does so you can decide which one you would like to join.
Apple Picking
Last week, several Rotarians traveled to Chapin Orchard to harvest apples that will be donated to the local food shelf.  Thanks to a banner crop this year, our Club was able to harvest and donate 25 bushels of apples to people in need (this was in addition to two other bushels that Phil Murdock had already collected).  Thank you to all who braved the elements to help with this project. A special thank you goes out to Phil and Helen Murdock for generously opening Chapin Orchard to us so we could collect the apples.
Heavenly Pantry Food Shelf
We are looking for volunteers to help staff the Heavenly Pantry Food Shelf in the next few months.  We will need volunteers for the following dates: Thursday, November 15; Monday, December 10; and Thursday, December 20. Please contact Sharon Dettenrieder at if you are able to fill any of these shifts.
Upcoming Meeting Schedule:  Wednesday, November 7, 2018 – Ben Bosley from Pinnacle Solutions will be speaking to us about Mediation Beyond Borders International.
Have a Happy Halloween!
