Meeting Recap

Greetings fellow Rotarians! Today we joined forces with the Knights of Columbus to put on the annual Senior Luncheon at the Champlain Valley Exposition. Several Rotarians helped fill goodie bags and serve meals to roughly 180 senior citizens. Thank you to all who volunteered to help at this event! A special thank you goes out to Janet Cooper for coordinating our Club’s involvement with this service project and for working with Bill Parmelee in securing the items to be placed in the goodie bags.

Club Elections

Our Club will be holding our annual elections for our Club and Charities Boards of Directors for the 2020-2021 Rotary Year at our December 11th meeting. The members elected will serve for the term that starts on July 1, 2020 and ends on June 30, 2021. It is important that we have a quorum of members voting in this election, so members are strongly encouraged to attend this meeting. If you can’t make it, details will be forthcoming about how you can vote by absentee ballot.

Salvation Army Bell Ringing

Thank you to all of the Rotarians who signed up to ring bells this coming Friday and Saturday! 100% of the slots we agreed to take were filled in record time! A special thank you goes out to Rusty Brink for coordinating our Club’s participation in this event.

Ronald Court

Our Club is saddened to report the passing of former Essex Rotarian, Ron Court. Calling hours will be taking place at the Essex Chapel of the A.W. Rich Funeral Home from 5-8 on December 5th and a memorial service will be held at the Essex Alliance Church at 11:00am on December 6th.

Server Gratuity

We are still collecting donations for a holiday gratuity to give to our server in December. If you would like to contribute to this, please give your cash donation to Jean Ashe before our December 11th meeting. There is no set amount to donate and every little bit that we receive is appreciated.

Heavenly Pantry Food Shelf

We are looking for volunteers to help staff the Heavenly Pantry Food Shelf on the following dates; Monday, December 9th (5:15pm) and Thursday, December 19th (3:30pm). Please contact Sharon Dettenrieder at sharon.dettenrieder@gmail.com if you are able to fill any of these shifts.

Upcoming Meeting Schedule: Wednesday, December 11, 2019 – In addition to our annual Club elections, we will be treated to a performance by the Essex High School Chamber Choir. This meeting is always a very festive event filled with good food, music and fellowship, so we hope as many Rotarians as possible will join us that day. Just as a reminder, this will be our Club’s last meeting of 2019. Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, January 8th.
