Meeting Recap

Greetings fellow Rotarians! Our speaker today was University of Vermont Athletic Director, Jeff Schulman. Jeff was on hand to discuss the new multipurpose center that is about to be constructed on the university campus. Thanks to the generous support of alumni and private donors, this new facility is about to become a reality. The new project will include the construction of a modern, state-of-the-art arena for basketball games and a much-needed facelift and renovation of the Gutterson ice arena. In addition to modernizing the basketball and hockey arenas, this project will also significantly increase the size of the physical training and exercise facilities. This portion of the project will benefit the entire student body as it will give students more options for exercise and wellness activities. Rotary Hockey Classic

Preparations are well under way for the annual Rotary All-Star Hockey Classic. Not only is this our Club’s second largest fundraiser, but it is an event that generates a great deal of publicity and exposure for our Club throughout the entire state. This year’s event is scheduled for Saturday, March 21st at the Essex Skating Facility with the women’s game starting at 3:30pm and the men’s game starting immediately after. As always, we will need several Rotarians to help at this event. Please contact Hockey Committee Chair, Jeff Cabanaw at Tarrisonus@comcast.net for details about volunteering at the Hockey Classic or opportunities for businesses to purchase ads in the game program.

Heavenly Pantry Food Shelf

We are looking for volunteers at the Heavenly Pantry Food Shelf on the following dates: Monday, March 9th (from 5:15 to 7:45 PM) and Thursday, March 26th (from 3:30 - 6:30 PM). Please contact Sharon Dettenrieder at sharon.dettenrieder@gmail.com if you are able to help fill any of these shifts.

Upcoming Meeting Schedule: Wednesday, March 4, 2020 – We will be holding committee meetings that day. As the end of the Rotary year is sneaking up on us, committees are reminded to start finalizing their charitable giving plans now.
