Meeting Recap

Greetings fellow Rotarians! Our speaker today was Erica Marks, Director of Volunteer Services at AgeWell, the state’s leading agency on aging. AgeWell is a non-profit organization that was formed in 1974. Its purpose is to provide support and assistance to senior citizens in Northwestern Vermont. AgeWell’s services include providing meals to seniors who might otherwise not be able to travel outside of their homes and simply providing seniors with day-to-day assistance that will allow them to remain in their homes. These services are especially important right now as the pandemic has made it far more difficult for many seniors to get out and about. An organization like this relies heavily on volunteers and there are many things that people can do to contribute. Volunteer opportunities include packaging and delivering meals to seniors; assisting seniors with household chores and/or yard work; and providing transportation for seniors who might not be able to drive. Heavenly Pantry Food Shelf

The food pantry is looking for volunteers to assist with providing curbside service. People who fall in the vulnerable category, however, are asked to please hold off on volunteering until the health threat subsides.
