Meeting Recap
Greetings fellow Rotarians! This past Saturday we held our annual Changeover Dinner at Chapin Orchards. After socializing and enjoying a fine dinner, we recognized this year’s Rotarian of the Year and Rookie of the Year. Heather Lemon was named the Club’s Rotarian of the Year for her tireless work as our Club’s Secretary and for her many behind-the-scenes efforts as well as for her service on various committees. Nancy Freeze was selected as this year’s Rookie of the Year. Nancy, in only her first year, embraced the motto of “service above self” by immediately volunteering to serve on more than one committee. Congratulations to both Heather and Nancy for these recognitions! Phil Murdock then took the opportunity to thank members of his board and other Rotarians who helped him throughout the year. He then handed the reins over to new President, Marie Schonholtz and her board. After introducing her board of directors, Marie discussed the 2013-2014 Rotary Theme of “Engage Rotary, Change Lives”. Marie explained the manners in which our Club can help foster this year’s goal of making sure that every Rotarian has a role to play and that every Rotarian’s contributions are valued. Thank you to Past-President Phil Murdock and his board for all of their hard work in 2012-2013, and thank you to Marie Schonholtz and the members of her board for stepping up to lead us in 2013-2014! We finished the meeting with the always-enjoyable Essex Rotary live auction. The bidding was fast and fierce and many left the event armed with some terrific items and services that were generously donated by several of our members. The proceeds from the auction will be used to augment our Club’s general budget. Thank you very much to Phil Murdock and his wife, Helen for graciously hosting this year’s Changeover Dinner!
2013-2014 Essex Rotary Board of Directors
