Senior Holiday Luncheon Volunteer Sign-Up

The Essex Rotary Club is hosting the annual Senior Luncheon on December 11, 2024, at the Champlain Valley Fair Grounds.  In previous years we have partnered with the Knights of Columbus but they will not be available this year.  So, all the responsibility for the set up and hosting the meal will be ours.  We will generally need "all hands on deck". 

 

Set up will start the day before the event, so please note the dates and times to arrive for shifts.

 

Location setting (day before event) includes ensuring the furnishings and decorations of the room are in place to host approximately 200 seniors.

 

Table setting includes placing table cloths on the tables and setting out sugar, salt, pepper, and silverware, and then plating and distributing both the salad and desert on fully-set tables prior to the meal.

 

Meal service includes taking tickets at the door, assisting in plating and distributing both the salad and desert on fully-set tables prior to the meal, and plating and delivering the turkey meal.

 

Clean-up includes restoring the room to its original condition by clearing and wiping down tables and chairs and returning furnishings to their original locations. 

 

NOTE: You may sign up for any of the groups under each task.  They are all the same.  Club Runner only allows for 10 people per task, so we have to create multiple similar tasks to allow for enough volunteeers.
