Services Rendered Supports At Risk Youth in Vermont

As Executive Director of Service Rendered, Bruce Wilson will share the mission of the organization he founded and led since about 2012.  He will also touch on ideas he has related to the upcoming Black History Month (February 2022).  He will also fill us in on his background with Rotary.  

 

Service Rendered, Inc either runs, or has run, the following programs aimed at youth education. 

  • UNITED COLLEGE CLUB: Individuals18-25 working together on their goals and aspirations, community service, internship, including job shadowing opportunities, education and fun events.
  • ARTS SO WONDERFUL: Visual and performing arts program including mural creation, dance, arts classes, and dance classes. 
  • GET FIT VERMONT: A fitness program that includes: walking, biking, skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, dancing, and traditional exercises.
  • COGNIZE (to become aware of in one’s mind): Helping individuals identify when they are in high risk thinking patterns or situations, before they enter into them. Identifying mindful ways to keep situations simple, so they may achieve their goals and be able to take in the true worth of everything they encounter.
  • CHILL OUT CENTER: A Community center located in The Diamond Run Mall in Rutland, Vermont. Providing a safe and stimulating environment where individuals are able to learn about the dangers of drugs, alcohol, tobacco, HIV/AIDS/STD, as well as learn about internship/community service projects.
  • LIFE SUPPORT VERMONT: Life Support Vermont provides HIV/AIDS/ STD education and testing in addition to resume writing and job readiness information.
  • STARVING MINDS BOOK CLUB: A thought-provoking book club that encourages individuals to read and report out on any subject, while developing their individuality and creativity.
