Microbrewing and Homebrew Shop in Essex

With the arrival of 1st Republic Brewing Company just over a year ago, Essex finally entered the Vermont microbrew revolution.  With the opening of the tasting room and home brew supply shop on River Road, Shawn Trout and Kevin Jarvis, moved Vermont's second largest into "the game" - offering a wonderful selection of brews made on the premise.  Below is a short version of how they came to create this successful and growing business: 

1st Republic Brewing Company started when a couple friends who worked together, started home brewing together.  After doing that for years in their garage in Fairfax they decided to start distributing.  After dozens of brewfests in Vermont and having a blast brewing beer, they decided to expand their operation, so they decided to move to Essex, Vermont. Their dream was to open up a brewery and a homebrew shop, to stay close to their roots and what got them started.

1st Republic Brewing Company has opened a homebrew shop in Vermont where you can come in and buy products in store or you can order online.  Our mission is to provide all brewers, wine makers, cider makers, and mead makers in Vermont and the surrounding area with the best products.  We also offer local Vermont grains.  

On the brewing front, between 6 and 10 beer selections are poured.
