Meeting Recap

Greetings fellow Rotarians!  Today we recognized fellow Rotarian, Don Messier for becoming a Paul Harris Fellow.  Don earned this distinction by contributing $1,000.00 to the Rotary Foundation.  His generous donation will help further the Rotary mission of peace and service. Congratulations to Don on this achievement!   We followed Don’s ceremony with our monthly committee meetings.  Committee leaders are reminded that the close of the Rotary year is rapidly approaching and that any requests for checks to be disbursed during this fiscal year should be made to Kristin Winer by a date no later than June 17th.

 

Golf Tournament

Thanks to the efforts of the Golf Committee and to several other Rotarians, we are now very close to matching the number of sponsors we had last year.  If you haven’t done so already, please contact the sponsor that was assigned to you or any other businesses that might have an interest in sponsorship. We are also looking for one more team of golfers to fill a slot, so if you know of a group of individuals who would like to play in this tournament, please have them get in touch with the Golf Committee as soon as possible. As we have mentioned before, this is our biggest fundraiser, so every sponsorship dollar helps!  On another note, we are happy to report that all of the volunteer spots for the event have been filled, so thank you to all who signed up to help with this event. 

 

Essex Rotary Changeover Dinner

It has been confirmed that this year’s changeover dinner will be held at Chapin Orchards, however, the Board of Directors is presently weighing options for times and dates for this event.  One option is to hold it on Saturday, June 29th while another option is to hold it on the evening of Wednesday, June 26th.  Please contact President Phil or any other board members if you have a strong preference for one of those dates.  An announcement will be made once a decision has been reached.

 

Upcoming Meeting Schedule:  June 5, 2013 – Our speaker will be Suzanne Johnson, Major Gifts Officer of the American Red Cross.
