Impact of Angel Flights on Patients and Volunteer Pilots

Today we close the loop.  Angel Flights is a remarkable non-profit that helps patients travel to out-of-state healthcare treatments.  You can read about two local patients who have used Angel Flights regularly here.

The two patients cited in the article are involved in our presentation.  This week, Essex resident, 10 year old Addi Carroll died and was honored by the Essex Fire Department as a fallen firefighter.  The ceremony was impressive - and involved first responders from around the region, including Essex Police Department.  At an Essex Rotary Service Above Self dinner several years ago, Addi and her mother, Tammy Carroll joined us to honor Chief Charlie Cole and all volunteers at Essex FD for the support and encouragement they provided to Addi.

Tim Kavanagh is also a user of Angel Flights and one of Vermont's premier ranconteurs.  Some of you may remember - or may not remember - Tim as the host of a Saturday Night Live Vermont show broadcast locally on WCAX where he worked.  Tim will give is an inside view of Angel Flights - and what it means to him, his family, and will also provide insight into the experience of the Carroll family.

Hopefully, Chris Weinberger, a volunteer pilot with Angel Flights will also join us.  The impact of helping those with great medical need also enriches and changes the lives of those who provide the support.
