Meeting Recap
Greetings fellow Rotarians! Today we held our monthly charitable committee meetings.  Many good ideas on how we can best donate our charitable funds have been discussed.  We are all looking forward to hearing more about the many worthwhile causes each committee is able to support this year!
Essex Rotary Service Above Self Award
Our Club is currently accepting nominations for the annual “Service Above Self Award” that will be presented at our upcoming Service Above Self Dinner in February. Rotarians are encouraged to nominate individuals who best exemplify our motto of “service above self” in their daily lives as candidates for this award.  The selected individual will also be recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow with a $1,000.00 donation to the Rotary Foundation being made by our Club in his or her name.  Please submit your nominations to Dave Johnson at before November 4, 2015
Holiday Senior Luncheon
The next big event on the horizon is the annual Senior Luncheon that we put on with the Knights of Columbus.  This year’s luncheon is scheduled for Wednesday, December 2nd at the Champlain Valley Expo from 12:00pm to 2:00pm.  This event will be held in lieu of our regularly scheduled meeting that day.  For our newer Rotarians, this is a luncheon we put on each year for local senior citizens.  We need as many Rotarians as possible to not only volunteer for this luncheon, but to donate items for goodie bags that are handed out to the senior citizens.  More details about this event will follow in the next few weeks!
Heavenly Pantry Food Shelf
The next opportunity to volunteer at the Food Shelf will be on Thursday, November 19th.  Please let Sharon Dettenrieder know if you are interested in helping out on that date.
Upcoming Meeting Schedule:  Wednesday, November 4, 2015 – Our speaker will be Lt. Scott Murray from the Salvation Army.
