OCTOBER 1st meeting speaker was Grace Grey, Rotary International scholarship recipient who will be studying in Italy. Grace is a Cum Laude graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy and University of Virginia. Grace knows of the importance of food as a way to build community on many levels, from your table to the global food chain. She envisions a life where food is available to all, regardless of income, mobility or other limitations to access. She advocates helping local economies by local consumption of food grown locally ( perhaps incentives for grocers to sell locally grown food at a discount). She has worked with Fair Share CSA to feed 400 families using local food sources. Fair Share does not have income requirements. Grace will be studying at the American University of Rome, working with the Food and Agriculture Org and learning from UN Representatives. She’ll return to give us an update on her studies.

The communication committee will be getting help with the one - pager from Edith Klimoskee’s son.
Sadly , Jim Olsen has resigned from the club after almost 60 years of membership! Jim’s letter was very poignant. He highlighted how Rotary has evolved over his years of membership and
how valuable the camaraderie, service and business networking opportunities Rotary provides can be. Jim will be missed by many who had the good fortune of meeting him.
