Meeting Recap
Greetings fellow Rotarians! To commemorate the fact November is Rotary Foundation Month, our program featured a talk from Julie Phelps who is a Trustee of the Rotary Foundation.  Julie commenced her program by formally recognizing Jean Ashe as a Paul Harris Fellow. Jean attained this status by donating $1,000.00 to the Rotary Foundation. The generosity of people like Jean is what allows the Rotary Foundation to grow and finance many charitable endeavors across the world.  Julie indicated that Rotary International is presently using funds from the Foundation to help eradicate polio.  Presently, the nations of Pakistan, Afghanistan and Nigeria are still listed as places in which the polio virus has not been eradicated. As we speak, Rotarians from across the globe are working tirelessly to make polio a thing of the past.  By giving to the Rotary Foundation, individuals are helping Rotary get closer to achieving this goal.  If you are thinking about donating to the Foundation, now would be a great time to do so as Rotary International is willing to match up to $500.00 for any donations made during the month of November and our Club is willing to match up to $100.00 in donations. If you would like to donate to the Foundation, please contact our Club’s Foundation Chair, Dave Johnson at mdkiln@gmail.com
Salvation Army Bell-Ringing
The weather outside is frightful which can only mean that it is time for us to sign up for Salvation Army bell-ringing shifts.  This year, our Club has agreed to cover shifts in front of Price Chopper and Essex Discount Beverage on Friday, November 30th and Saturday, December 1st.  A sign-up sheet is being circulated at our weekly meetings. Please contact Rusty Brink at ambrink54@comcast.net for information about available shifts.
Senior Holiday Luncheon
Please be sure to mark your calendars for the upcoming Senior Holiday Luncheon!  Each year, our Club works with the Knights of Columbus to put on a meal for over 200 senior citizens from our area.  This year’s event will be held at the Champlain Valley Exposition on Wednesday, December 5th. Please contact Janet Cooper at jcooper@cooperfinancialvt.com for more information about this event.
Heavenly Pantry Food Shelf

We are looking for volunteers to help staff the Heavenly Pantry Food Shelf in the next few months.  We will need volunteers for the following dates: Monday, December 10; and Thursday, December 20. Please contact Sharon Dettenrieder at sharon.dettenrieder@gmail.com if you are able to fill any of these shifts.

Upcoming Meeting Schedule:  Wednesday, November 21, 2018 – We will not be having a meeting next week in observance of Thanksgiving.
