Greetings fellow Rotarians! We did not have a meeting today as we were busy selling corn at the Corn Booth! Thus far, the weather has been perfect, so we’re expecting robust sales figures this year.  Thank you to all of the Rotarians, friends and family members who have graciously taken time out of your busy schedules to staff the Corn Booth this year.  This is a large undertaking that requires help from a lot of people, so your assistance is very much appreciated.  A special thank you goes out to the Corn Booth Committee.  This group has spent several hours behind the scenes making sure that all of the details for the Booth’s operation have been squared away.  Finally, there are still some slots over the final weekend that need to be filled and a number of Rotarians who have not signed up for any slots.  If you haven’t signed up yet and are able to do so, please consider signing up for those final slots.  You can sign up using the following link:

            Sharon Dettenrieder will be taking orders for new Rotary shirts through Sept. 4th.  The shirt is a cotton navy polo shirt with the Rotary logo embroidered on the left. The cost of the shirt depends upon how many we order, but the estimated cost is between $31 and $38 and will be billed to your Rotary account.  If you would like a shirt, please send Sharon an email at sharon.dettenrieder@gmail.com indicating the following: 1.) men's or women's shirt; 2.) shirt size; 3.) number of shirts you would like to order; 4.) your name.

 

 

            Our per person meal prices with The Essex have recently increased.  Accordingly, our meal prices will increase to $17.50 per person each week.  We are pleased to report, however, that there is a dessert and coffee only option priced at $6.50 per person.  We are also pleased to report that we will be holding two breakfast meetings at The Essex this fall.  These two meetings will be held at 7:30am on Wednesday, September 25^th and Wednesday, October 30^th.  Each of these meetings will be held in lieu of our luncheon meetings on those weeks.  Please stay tuned for more details.

 

 

            We are looking for volunteers to help staff the Heavenly Pantry Food Shelf on the following dates; Monday, September 9th (5:15pm); Thursday, September, 26^th (3:30pm); Monday, October 14^th (5:15pm); and Thursday, October 24^th (3:30pm).  Please contact Sharon Dettenrieder at sharon.dettenrieder@gmail.com if you are able to fill any of these shifts.

 

Upcoming Meeting Schedule:  Wednesday, September 4, 2019 – Our speaker will be Dave Cobb, Executive Director of Green Mountain Boys’ State, a program designed to educate high school students about government.
