Meeting Recap

Greetings fellow Rotarians. Today’s speaker was Essex High School teacher Jill DeSorcie. Jill was recognized as the Jump$tart Teacher of the Year for her efforts in teaching personal finance to students. The Jump$tart coalition is a non-profit organization that focuses on advancing youth financial literacy and promoting the importance of effective financial education in schools across the country. EHS Service Above Self Recognition

Each June, our Club helps put on a dinner that recognizes several Essex High School Seniors for their selfless volunteer efforts in our community. Although this year’s dinner was canceled, our Club still found a way to recognize these students who exemplify the Rotary motto of, “Service Above Self”. This past week, several Rotarians arrived at the places of employment of five of this year’s recognized students to cheer their accomplishments and to present them with poster-sized checks and balloons. Thank you to all of the Rotarians who took part in this amazing event. A special thank you goes out to Penny Klein for organizing this effort!

Membership Dues

By now, you all should have received your invoices for your 2020-2021 membership dues. As we’ve mentioned before, it is our sincere hope that all of our members will renew their memberships for the 2020-2021 Rotary year. If your intention is to renew your membership, we ask that you please remit payment for your dues no later than June 19th as we will need to report the 2020-2021 roster to Rotary International before the start of the new Rotary year (which begins on July 1st). Please note that if we do not receive your dues payments by June 19th, we will assume that you are not renewing your membership and you will be dropped from the Membership roster.
