"This is the Rotary Club of Essex, Vermont"
Greetings,
Thank you for visiting the Rotary Club of Essex Website!
Since our club’s founding in 1966, the Rotary Club of Essex has been an integral part of our local community in Essex, Westford, Jericho and Underhill. Each year, our members raise and donate tens of thousands of dollars to benefit our community. We provide scholarships to local students, we donate coats and winter gear to needy families and so much more. Our members also volunteer countless hours to support local initiatives, whether it is helping out at the Heavenly Pantry Food Shelf or Meals on Wheels or Green Up Day.
Rotary isn’t just about charity; it is also an excellent way to build connections and friendships in our community. Through our regular lunch meetings, volunteer opportunities and fundraising, Rotarians build strong and deep relationships with one another and across our community. What’s more, through our speaker series, our Rotarians interact with leaders from across government, business and non-profits. Lastly, our Black Flannel Happy Hours are a great way to unwind and connect with friends and neighbors.
As we look to the year ahead, we see that the needs in our community are only growing – whether that is helping our fellow Vermonters recover from the recent flooding or supporting neighbors to have enough food to feed their families in a time of inflation. In these challenging times, our club is rising to the challenge and expanding our fundraising efforts so that we can meet these growing needs. Meanwhile, we are looking to reach out and bring in new, diverse Rotarians to our club. In 2023-24, we will also launch an international project – building on a strong tradition within our club of fostering global connections and goodwill.
Does building great friendships and giving back to the community sound good to you? If so, I hope you will reach out and consider joining the Rotary Club of Essex!
Yours in Service,
Steve Schmida
